NASDA Part-time Field Enumerator - Mahaska

National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) – The Field Enumerator is a part‑time position supporting agricultural producers by collecting accurate and unbiased data. This role involves in‑person and telephone interviews and crop counts in fields.

• Conduct interviews in a professional and representative manner, effectively communicating benefits in all survey activities.
• Perform in‑depth interviews with diverse agricultural operations in person and over the telephone.
• Conduct crop counts in designated agricultural fields.
• Enter detailed data gathered from operators in a timely manner.
• Report daily progress, time, and mileage.
• Receive on‑the‑job training and provide comprehensive training on industry studies.

• Part‑time availability with a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends.
• Private workspace with a functional telephone and minimal distractions.
• Maintained personal vehicle for travel related to enumerator duties; ability to travel up to 250 miles quarterly for training as needed.
• Proficiency in computer systems and/or iPads.
• Experience working in a deadline‑driven environment with multiple tasks.
• Ability to examine crop status in corn or soybean fields.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 40 lbs and walk unassisted on uneven ground for up to 100 yards.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Background check required.
