At NTOC , we design and manufacture advanced cleaning, sterilisation and transport cassettes for medical devices. Our products contribute directly to safe, efficient and high‑quality patient care.
To support our continued growth and professionalisation, we are looking for an R&D Manager who will drive technical innovation, team development and the modernisation of our work processes.
In this versatile position, you will combine engineering (± 50%) with leadership, project management and process development (± 50%) .
You will lead the R&D team, participate in design work and help elevate the department to the next level.
Your responsibilities:
Team & Department
Lead, coach and support the R&D team
Modernise work methods, tools and processes
Implement structures and workflows that improve collaboration, efficiency and clarity
Technical Work
Create 3D designs and 2D drawings (Solid Works)
Review and update existing technical documentation
Ensure quality, consistency and complete documentation across all designs
Project Management & Customer Interaction
Manage technical projects from start to finish
Communicate with customers and internal stakeholders
Make decisions, initiate improvements and implement changes effectively
Process Development
Classification and storage of technical drawings
Create workflows and tools that enhance team cohesion and efficiency
Who you are
You have a strong technical background, a modern vision for R&D processes and a drive for continuous improvement.
You bring:
A higher technical education (e.g. Mechanical Engineering)
Background or training as a technical designer
Excellent knowledge of Solid Works
Demonstrated successful experience as an R&D Manager
Strong experience managing technical projects
Knowledge of ISO
13485 and/or ISO
9001
Experience with Medical Device R&D under EU MDR (a plus)
Professional proficiency in Dutch and English, both verbal and written
Decision‑making ability and change‑driven mindset
Dynamic, motivated and solution‑oriented attitude
Work in a growing company within a specialised high‑tech medical niche
Play a key role in the professionalisation of the R&D department
A varied role combining leadership, innovation, engineering and process optimisation
A collaborative environment with room for initiative and new ideas
