The RoleThe Practice Manager leads a team of Business Analysts (8–12) to deliver high‑quality analysis across projects and programmes. The role combines hands‑on BA delivery with strategic leadership of the BA practice, ensuring clear, accurate requirements and strong alignment between business needs and technical solutions. You will drive BA standards, develop team capability, and support consistent delivery across onshore and offshore teams.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high‑performing BA team.
- Conduct 1:1s, performance reviews, and support succession planning.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive culture across onshore and offshore teams.
- Track and report KPIs to monitor quality and throughput.
- Lead requirements discovery, elicitation, and validation.
- Produce and quality‑assure BRDs, Functional and Non‑Functional Requirements.
- Facilitate workshops and analysis sessions.
- Ensure requirements are clear, traceable, and aligned to solution design.
- Embed BA best practice across the team.
- Work effectively in Agile and Waterfall environments.
- Use Jira and Confluence for documentation, backlog management, and governance.
- Prioritise multiple work streams and ensure adherence to BA standards.
- Support continuous improvement within the BA practice.
- Build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and delivery teams.
- Communicate complex concepts clearly and confidently.
- Act as a key link between business and technical teams.
What You’ll Need:
- 6+ years as a Business Analyst with full requirements lifecycle experience.
- 4+ years managing a BA function or team.
- Experience managing 8–10 BAs across onshore/offshore locations.
- Strong Agile and Waterfall delivery experience.
- Advanced Jira and Confluence skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Proven ability to prioritise and manage multiple initiatives.
- Demonstrable coaching and people‑development skills.
- Experience in process modelling, data analysis, or solution design.
- Certifications (CBAP, CCBA, PRINCE2, Scrum Master, Agile).
- Experience in regulated or complex environments.
- Knowledge of utilities (especially Water), Billing or CRM systems.
- Experience with data migration or software product life cycles.
- Proficiency with Visio, Lucidchart, Miro, or similar tools.
- Salesforce experience or certifications.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable with ambiguity.
- Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
