Bittersweet Ski Resort in Otsego, Michigan is seeking a Snow Sports School Director. The Snow Sports School Director is responsible for managing all aspects of the Snow Sports School, including developing and supervising the skiing and riding instruction programs for guests, with emphasis on safety, learning, and generating revenue. They plan and promote program offerings, schedule personnel, communicate schedules, coordinate training, supervise and direct snow sports staff, and follow up on assignments.

The Snow Sports School Director will also coordinate and conduct recreational events as requested. The Snow Sports Director reports to the General Manager and works closely with the Office Manager.

Bittersweet Ski Resort, located in southwest Michigan, is a premier ski and ride resort with 350 feet of vertical drop. Guests enjoy 6 lifts (including 2 high-speed chairlifts), 20 runs, and multiple lodge amenities.

The Snow Sports Director primarily works at Bittersweet Ski Resort. Daily activities may include standing or being seated for extended periods, skiing and/or riding, walking on steep grades, climbing ladders, and exposure to cold winter conditions and/or hot summer conditions. Work outside the normal workday may be required to fulfill responsibilities and meet deadlines. Weekend and holiday work is required.

• Manage all aspects of the Snow Sports School team member experience including hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, recognition, and offboarding. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of payroll processes and Workers Comp reporting.
• Determine and execute planning and operation of Snow Sports School pricing and programming to maximize market trends and expectations. Coordinate with the Office Manager to determine and adjust ongoing Snow Sports School sales capacities.
• Develop policies and programs to promote Bittersweet’s Snow Sports School and ensure profitability.
• Oversee and guide instructor training and certification programs to ensure adherence to the American Teaching System and PSIA guidelines.

• Minimum requirements:
  
  Must be a minimum PSIA certified instructor at Level 2, with at least 5 years’ experience managing staff and strong understanding of current ski industry and teaching trends.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and basic accounting is required.
• Snow sports supervisory experience is preferred.

• Salary will be dependent on qualifications and experience.
