Overview
Our well-respected real estate client is expanding rapidly and is now seeking a self-motivated Senior Accountant to join their accounting team in a full-time, permanent role! Reporting to the Director of Finance, this position combines thoughtful decision-making through strong financial analysis, clear reporting and practical insight. You will be a critical resource for property operations, and your financial expertise will allow you to support continuous improvement initiatives with a hands-on approach.

Key responsibilities include:
- Manage end-to-end financial reporting for an assigned property portfolio, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow
- Perform month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records
- Assist with budgeting, capital planning, and variance analysis, providing actionable recommendations
- Partner with property operations to translate financial results into insights that support decision-making
- Track maintenance, renovation, and capital activity metrics, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities
- Support process improvements, reporting standardization, and technology initiatives to enhance efficiency and data quality
- Mentor and guide junior accounting staff to strengthen team capability
- Contribute to special projects, system upgrades, and portfolio transitions as needed

Qualifications- CPA designation complete or in progress is preferred
- Post-secondary education in finance and/or accounting required
- Minimum 4+ years of progressive full-cycle accounting experience
- Sound knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Proficient in Excel
- Previous real estate and/or property management experience considered an asset
