Laurysen Kitchens is a family-owned business that has been creating award-winning kitchens, bathrooms, cabinetry, and closets for over 50 years! The 100,000 square foot manufacturing facility, located in Carleton Place, has an upcoming opening for the position of Accounts Payable Clerk.
You will utilize your experience, education, passion for numbers, and detail orientation to perform these core duties:
- Completes payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices
- Ensures 3-way matching process is complete: invoices, packing slips and purchase orders
- Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
- Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports, recording entries
- Generate weekly required and ad hoc reports
- Maintain accounting files electronically
- Process vendors payments by monitoring discount opportunities, verifying federal , scheduling and preparing checks, and resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation
- Ensure credit notes are received from vendors for material returns
- Process employee expenses by receiving and verifying expense reports
- Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
- Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions
- Record petty cash transactions and verify documentation
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 3 years of accounts payable experience, along with the following:
- Post-secondary diploma in accounting/bookkeeping, administration, or business
- Strong communication skills (verbal | written) and strong organizational skills
- Excellent attention to detail, professional manner, and strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and process high level of transactions
- Proficiency in PC and Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel), strong general math skills
- Experience using Sage 300 Accounting Software is considered a definite asset
