Project Accountant

Position: Contract Project Accountant
Elevate your finance career with GIP as a Project Accountant on a 15-month contract in Ottawa. Support cost control, financial reporting, and project accountability with your financial expertise.

This role reports to the Chief Accountant and is crucial for the financial success of the Alexandra Bridge Project. You will manage project costs, support budgeting and forecasting, and maintain financial controls. Collaborating closely with project managers and field teams, you'll ensure accurate financial reporting and play a key role in informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor project costs against approved budgets

• Maintain job cost reports and financial tracking tools

• Support project setup, budget creation, and updates

• Prepare journal entries and assist with reconciliations

• Communicate financial data to key stakeholders

Requirements:

• Post-secondary education in Accounting or Finance

• 3+ years experience in project accounting or cost control

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems

• Excellent analytical and communication skills

• High attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
