Bookkeeper / Office Administrator
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Office Administrator to support the financial and administrative operations of our commercial electrical contracting business. This position is well suited to an organized, self-motivated professional who is comfortable working independently and managing a variety of accounting and office responsibilities.
This is an up to 1-year contract position with the possibility of becoming permanent.
Key Responsibilities- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping using Quick Books Online (QBO)
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoicing, payments, and collections
- Process and reconcile bank and credit card accounts
- Enter and maintain accurate financial transactions, expenses, and receipts
- Process payroll through Quick Books Online, including maintaining employee records and tracking hours and vacation
- Assist with payroll remittances and year-end requirements
- Monitor outstanding customer accounts and follow up on overdue invoices
- Assist with month-end and year-end bookkeeping and reporting
- Maintain accurate and organized financial and company records
- Prepare basic financial reports and information for management
- Communicate professionally with customers, suppliers, and employees regarding financial and administrative matters
- Provide general office and administrative support to management and field staff
- Assist with job and project administration, documentation, and filing
- Use Microsoft Office/365, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Identify opportunities to improve bookkeeping and administrative processes
- Perform other related duties as required
- 2+ years of bookkeeping and/or accounting experience
- Strong Quick Books Online experience – required
- Experience processing payroll using Quick Books Online
- Solid understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and reconciliations
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office/365, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional, reliable, and able to maintain confidentiality
- Bookkeeping, accounting, or business administration education is an asset
Experience in construction, electrical contracting, or another trades-based business is considered an asset.

Hours:
Part-time 20-24hrs/week $19.00 to $22.00/ HR
