About The Opportunity
LRO Staffing is partnering with a respected Ottawa organization to recruit a Bilingual Receptionist for a short-term onsite contract in Orléans from August 19 through September 11.
The successful candidate will serve as the first point of contact for clients and visitors while providing administrative and clerical support to the team. This role is ideal for someone who is professional, organized, bilingual in English and French, and enjoys working in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
- Answer incoming calls and redirect them to the appropriate employees or services, while taking messages as required
- Greet and welcome clients, volunteers, visitors, and community partners in a professional and courteous manner
- Provide general information regarding organizational resources and services
- Assist individuals in urgent situations and connect them with the appropriate supports and services
- Process incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, and general correspondence
- Perform photocopying, filing, data entry, and other clerical support tasks
- Receive and process donations and miscellaneous cash revenue while ensuring accurate record keeping and receipting
- Enter donation and revenue information into internal databases and systems
- Maintain employee schedules and assist with room bookings and reservations
- Provide administrative support including typing correspondence and documents in both English and French
- Assist with reception coverage and provide backup support as needed
- Collaborate with internal staff and contribute to a positive team environment
- Perform additional related duties as assigned
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Previous experience in a receptionist, clerical, or administrative support role
- Experience interacting with the public in a professional and client-focused environment
- Bilingual in English and French, with strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages (essential)
- Strong customer service skills with a professional and friendly telephone manner
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple responsibilities
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable handling sensitive or confidential information with discretion
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Ability to type a minimum of 40 words per minute considered an asset
- Experience in a community, social services, or non-profit environment would be considered an asset
- Strong interpersonal skills, tact, diplomacy, flexibility, and sensitivity when working with diverse individuals and communities
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Work Arrangement:
Fully onsite in Orléans, Ottawa - Duration:
Contract from August 19 to September 11 - Hourly Pay: $20.00 per hour
- Hours:
8:30 AM – 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM through August, 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM – 4:30 PM beginning in September - Background Check:
