Position: Genetics Laboratory Clerk II Role
CHEO is looking for a Clerk II to join the Genetics Diagnostic Laboratory team, dedicated to effective patient information management and laboratory documentation handling. Ideal candidates will possess strong attention to detail and interpersonal skills.

In the role of Clerk II, you will manage essential patient information while collaborating closely with administrative and laboratory staff. Your tasks will involve entering data, retrieving laboratory reports, and assisting both the public and healthcare providers with inquiries related to the Regional Genetics Program. This position emphasizes team collaboration and effective organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Enter and validate patient information in software systems

• Collect missing data from referral sources when necessary

• Retrieve, mail, fax, and scan relevant lab documents

• Assist the public with inquiries about genetics services

• Triage incoming calls based on urgency and nature

Requirements:

• Essential:
High school diploma

•

Required:

Prior clerical experience

• Strong customer service and organizational abilities

• Police Record Check required

• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
