Overview
Telesat (NASDAQ: TSAT) is a leading global satellite operator delivering satellite‑delivered communications solutions worldwide. The company’s upcoming Telesat Lightspeed Low Earth Orbit network will add broadband connectivity worldwide. The role reports to the Senior Manager for Strategic Initiatives in Ottawa, Canada.
Responsibilities- Conduct structured research and analysis to support market entry strategies, especially in developing economies.
- Identify, track, and pursue funding opportunities to accelerate Telesat’s go‑to‑market success.
- Develop strategic partnerships with national, regional, and international organizations to support emerging‑market go‑to‑market efforts.
- Prepare high‑quality materials for internal and external stakeholders, including presentations, briefing decks, and strategic proposals.
- Support cross‑functional teams with data synthesis, stakeholder coordination, and project tracking.
- Contribute to internal coordination and data analysis for sales planning initiatives, corporate development, and other ad‑hoc requests.
- University degree in commerce, business administration, international relations, global development, economics, or a related discipline.
- 3‑5 years of experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, business analysis, global development, or related roles.
- Exceptional research and analytical skills with the ability to structure and synthesize complex information.
- Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation to support strategic decision‑making.
- Advanced PowerPoint skills with a strong eye for structure, clarity, and visual storytelling.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in producing concise, high‑impact executive materials.
- Strong relationship‑building and stakeholder coordination capabilities across internal and external teams.
- Knowledge of the international development landscape, including key international organizations, development banks, and global non‑profits.
- Experience working in development finance or with funding mechanisms in emerging markets.
- Experience collaborating across cross‑functional teams, including sales, government relations, and corporate development.
- Knowledge in space and adjacent sectors such as telecommunications or defence.
- Office work at Telesat headquarters in Ottawa, ON.
- Off‑hours work occasionally required.
- Occasional travel.
The successful candidate must be able to work in Canada and obtain a Reliability Status Government clearance.
