Position: Head Housekeeper for Private Couple in Bel Air

A couple in Bel Air seeks an experienced, reliable Head Housekeeper to maintain their three-floor residence. We are looking for someone who enjoys working in larger homes with established systems and routines. The ideal candidate appreciates detailed guidance while using good judgment about daily priorities. This is a hands-on position focused on sustainable daily maintenance with occasional intensive deep cleaning. You’ll work with detailed but flexible systems designed to make your job go smoothly.

They believe in working at a steady, reasonable pace and prioritizing high-traffic areas while rotating through other spaces on a realistic, manageable schedule.

You’ll work with another housekeeper two days per week, coordinate with their House Manager, and be aware of the household’s daily schedule. Their home includes four well-trained dogs and two cats, so comfort with pets and managing pet-related cleaning is important; dog walking and outside breaks are managed by other employees or vendors (not this role).

They’ve created detailed housekeeping systems because they want to support, not overwhelm, their staff. Their household schedules are realistic and designed to be completed by one person working at a steady pace during regular hours. They value open communication and expect you to use your judgment: if something on the schedule doesn’t make sense for a particular day, they want you to let them know so they can adapt accordingly.

When their manual says “as needed,” they mean it. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys the rhythm of maintaining a larger home and appreciates having clear priorities and systems to follow.

About the Role

Daily Operations:

● Oversee and perform daily housekeeping operations including dishes, dusting and vacuuming select rooms, as well as laundry and ironing for two adult principals


Note:

select fine clothing, and all household bedlinens, are professionally laundered offsite

● Maintain high-traffic areas consistently while following rotation schedules for other spaces

● Care for fine furnishings, artwork, and indoor plants using appropriate methods as advised

● Manage pet-related cleaning in kitchen and family room areas, including dealing with shedding, washing pet bedding, and keeping rugs in good condition in case of accidents

● Perform end-of-day walk-through or reviews with House Manager to ensure nothing has been missed

Coordination & Management:

● Coordinate with House Manager to maintain cleaning standards and update housekeeping systems

● Manage housekeeping supplies and coordinate reordering with House Manager

● Greet guests, vendors, and accept deliveries (as needed, when House Manager is unavailable)

● Work collaboratively with part-time housekeeper, splitting duties according to house needs and direction

Additional Duties:

● Assist with occasional event setup and breakdown under House Manager supervision and direction (3-4x/year)

● Maintain positive working environment

● Submit accurate timesheets every other Tuesday.

● Experience maintaining large, multi-floor residences

● Knowledge of proper care techniques for fine home furnishings, clothing, and surfaces including marble, hardwood, antique rugs etc.

● Comfortable working around pets and managing pet-related cleaning
