Rate: $160.02/day

What do you offer?
Reporting to the Camp Coordinator, the Overnight Camp Area Supervisores and implements the delivery of quality recreational programs, services and experiences to children and youth aged 4 to 16 enrolled at Camp Otonabee. The Overnight Camp Area Supervisor supervises counsellors, section support staff and program staff and provides them with tools to create a meaningful camp experience for all participants as they engage in outdoor activities, discover nature and enjoy the natural environment, build self-confidence and establish lasting friendships.
Campers can experience canoeing, rock climbing, kayaking, swimming and more.
Some of the tasks of this position include:
- Supervising overnight counsellors, section support staff and program staff.
- Providing overnight counsellors, section support staff and program staff with tools to create a meaningful experience for all participants.
- Ensuring that children and youth have a positive experience through fun and rewarding recreation and sport programs.
- Delivering high quality program facilitation of boating activities, high ropes, and/or land-based programs.
- ating in swimming, canoeing, rock climbing and other activities.
- Performing some housekeeping responsibilities, like santation of equipment, cleaning program areas, etc.
What qualifications and abilities are we looking for?

The successful candidate will have the following:
Language
- Ability to work in English
- Bilingualism is an asset
Experience,
Skills and Abilities
- National Lifeguard Certification, Bronze Cross, Paddle Canada, or other relevant certifications will be strongly considered as assets
- CUI Level 1 or Level 2 or previous high ropes experience/hours are considered as assets
- A minimum of 2 years of experience working in camping and outdoor education, and a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in camping and outdoor education
- Flexibility to work all hours of the day
- Well-developed interpersonal, conflict resolution and relationship-building skills
- Ability to maintain calm demeanor in stressful situations
- Ability to act as a positive role model for campers, staff and volunteers
Additional Requirements
- Applicants must be 18 years old by June 2026.
- Applicants must have a current Standard First Aid and CPR "C" certification.
- Applicants must already have a valid permit to work in Canada.
- A Police Record check, not more than 6 months old is required.
