Aboutthe Role
We are seeking an experienced Site Carpenter to support the erection of a timber foot bridge replacement project located in Smith Falls, Ontario
. This position will report to the Structure Craft Builders Site Superintendent, Project Manager, or Project Coordinator to deliver high quality wood structures safely, on time and on budget.
This is a full‑time, temporary position tied to the project, with an expected duration from approximately September 2, 2025 to November 2025.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities- Fully comply with Structure Craft, OH&S and Contractor safety requirements.
- Perform all on‑site carpentry tasks, such as mass timber work, light wood framing, back‑framing, and layout.
- Perform concrete formwork tasks in preparation for concrete pours.
- Perform pre‑assembly work involving different materials such as timber, steel, fasteners, etc.
- Perform rigging and hoisting tasks with site crew.
- Use carpentry and general construction hand tools, power tools, nail guns, portable saws, etc.
- Use personal protective equipment including fall protection equipment (after training and certification), hard hats, high‑vis vests, safety footwear, glasses, etc.
- May be required to operate forklifts and manlifts (after training and certification).
- Participate in all safety requirements on projects and take part in daily job hazard assessments and weekly toolbox safety meetings.
- Assist the team with any general construction activities as needed, including clean up and demolition, receiving material, offloading, staging, site finishing and deficiency correction.
- Experience with framing, formwork and finishing is an asset.
- Experience in the erection of buildings while performing the work with assistance of mobile cranes and tower cranes.
- Strong organizational skills including attention to detail and multi‑tasking skills.
- Demonstrate a positive work attitude and ability to work in teams.
- Journeyman Carpentry certification.
- Fall arrest and aerial lift certifications.
- Minimum of 3 years construction related experience.
