OverviewThe Junior Estimator is responsible for developing estimates for internal and external projects while maintaining client and trade partner relationships in the industry.
Duties and Responsibilities- Actively search for new bid opportunities through online portals and networking groups.
- Review all available project documents, including drawings, specifications, geotechnical reports, addenda, schedules, contracts, and consultant reports.
- Identify discrepancies, conflicts, scope gaps, constructability concerns, and missing information.
- Prepare and submit Requests for Information (RFIs) where clarification is required.
- Perform detailed, timely and well‑organized cost estimates/budgets at various stages of design.
- Quantity takeoffs as needed for accurate estimating using Bluebeam Software.
- Visit the project site to assess existing conditions, logistics, site access, staging areas, environmental constraints, and potential construction challenges.
- Prepare and manage tenders through Autodesk Building Connected.
- Work with the Pre‑Construction Team for all new RFP’s/RFQ’s to ensure quality/timely submissions.
- Generate detailed estimate reports, bid summaries, cash flow projections, and cost analysis documentation.
- Maintain score cards for trade partners and consultants with input from Project Managers.
- Maintain an active database of unit rate pricing that has been validated by the industry for help in pricing future opportunities.
- Meet with Owners and Consulting teams in a professional manner and communicate effectively both the concerns and best interests of the company.
- Assist project managers and field teams with budget reviews, change pricing, procurement support, and cost analysis.
- Lead project meetings with internal and external parties to monitor and support the team’s ongoing development and progression.
- Engage and build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure common goals are achieved and corporate interests are kept in mind.
- Participate in business development with other internal team members to help build and grow the General Contracting Sector.
- Attend job showings and events as required.
- Architectural/Engineering diploma/degree or minimum 2 years of experience in the ICI or Condo/Apartment Building industry.
- Architectural or Engineering diploma or degree is considered an asset.
- Maintain extensive knowledge and understanding of CCDC Contracts and Construction Law.

The salary range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $55,000 and $65,000 per year. However, the range offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
