Aecon holds a Master Construction Contract with Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL) to complete projects at their Chalk River, Ontario site. This is a dynamic growth opportunity in a fast‑paced environment working with an exciting client and site that has a rich history in nuclear research.
Under the general direction of the Construction Manager, the Site Superintendent will assist in the supervision, coordination, and scheduling of construction activities on the project site, ensuring all work is completed safely, meets quality standards, and complies with the contract and job cost estimate.
What You'll Do Here- Maintain excellent relationships with client, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and the public.
- Ensure all work is conducted safely and complies with all safety, quality, and performance policies.
- Implement joint‑venture and client policies and project procedures as required.
- Assist in developing, monitoring and updating the project schedule with the Construction and Project Manager and ensure subcontractors adhere to the master schedule.
- Create detailed look‑ahead schedules for foremen and subcontractors.
- Develop recovery strategies when the schedule or budget is compromised.
- Plan, supervise, and approve the work of own forces and subcontractors, determining construction methods, manpower, materials, equipment, rentals, and work schedules.
- Assume responsibility for productivity, efficient use of resources, and contractual performance.
- Ensure trades personnel complete required safety, quality assurance, technical qualification, equipment operation, and owner‑specified training.
- Ensure the project is constructed in compliance with drawings, specifications, Field Work Packages (FWPs), Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and schedule and budget.
- Interface with client representatives, design engineers, consultants, and other contractors.
- Maintain QA/QC program compliance and project quality guidelines.
- Maintain field documentation, including safety records, daily progress reports, training records, T&E and rental records, manpower reports, owner support requests, and FWP documents.
- Participate in basic layout, preparation of work instructions, and field engineering activities.
- Verify as‑built conditions through lines and levels.
- Direct general foremen, foremen, hourly trades, and subcontractors in the execution of their duties.
- Education:
Technical college diploma or equivalent combination of technical training and related experience. - Experience in the nuclear industry.
- Minimum five years’ construction and subcontractor supervision experience.
- Ability to successfully supervise a construction project.
- Knowledge of all aspects of construction: technology, equipment, methods, trade agreements, jurisdiction, engineering, cost control, scheduling, and safety requirements.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and supervisory skills.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to read and understand CGC cost reports.
- Basic presentation skills.

Salary RangeExpected pay range: $100,000 – $150,000 per year. Individual pay is determined by location, education, experience, unique skills, job conditions, certifications, specialized training, and project scope.
