Project Coordinator – Ottawa, ON
Summary
:
Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Coordinator provides overall administrative and technical support for a large‑scale construction project, ensuring schedules, materials, inspections, costs, and safety requirements are met.
- Assist the Senior Project Manager and Project Manager in planning and implementing schedules, material quantities, inspections, and equipment requirements.
- Monitor work performance to ensure project rules, procedures, and safety requirements are followed.
- Prepare project documentation such as contracts, permits, and technical documents.
- Identify potential problems, work interferences, and schedule difficulties and assist in resolving them.
- Maintain and analyze up‑to‑date cost reports and submit necessary changes to ensure project delivery within budget.
- Meet with Owners and Consultants, communicating company concerns and best interests.
- Monitor project performance, schedule, costs, equipment, manpower, materials, maintenance, safety, and quality control.
- Interface with project team, subcontractors, and third parties.
- Inspect project sites to maintain a safe work environment and lead adherence to policies, procedures, and standards.
- Perform any other job‑related duties assigned by the supervisor or management.
- 2+ years of experience in construction or project coordination.
- Experience on MTO road construction projects and bridge building/structures is desired.
- Results‑driven with the ability to deliver success in a fast‑paced environment.
- Outcome focused, critical thinker with analysis and visualization skills for continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing priorities.
- Demonstrated versatility and resourcefulness in overcoming business challenges.
- Travel to various work locations is required.
- Valid driver’s license.
Expected hourly rate: $25–$35 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, internal equity, work location, and market expectations.
