Position: Foreperson (Grading) | #0036
Duties and Responsibilities
:
Read and interpret construction drawingsUse GPS and other survey instruments to establish correct line and gradeIdentify any conflicts and report to site supervisorWork with engineers and surveyors to solve problemsAchieve correct grade by directing operators of equipment to adjust grade by moving earth, gravel, and other materialsMeasure distances from reference points or offsets to accurately install utilitiesLead and supervise the grading crew, including equipment operators, laborers, and subcontractors.Assign tasks and responsibilities to crew members based on project needs and individual skills.Enforce strict safety protocols and ensure that all crew members follow safety regulations and guidelines.Conduct daily safety meetings and toolbox talks to discuss potential hazards and preventive measures.Manage and optimize crew productivity to meet project deadlines and maintain efficient grading operations.Coordinate equipment and material resources to maximize efficiency.Maintain clear and open communication with the project manager, superintendent, and other stakeholders.Provide regular updates on project progress, challenges, and potential delays.Maintain accurate records, including daily logs, equipment maintenance records, and crew attendance records.Coordinate with subcontractors, if applicable, to ensure their work aligns with project requirements and timelines.Maintain clear and open communication with other crew members, project managers, inspectors, and clients to coordinate construction activities and address concerns.Requirements:
Valid Ontario Driver’s LicenseAccess to a reliable vehicle3-5 years of experienceCavanagh

The hourly range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $36.00 and $43.00 per hour. However, the range offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
