Shuttle Buggey Operator (Asphalt Division)

Overview:
Our Mainline and Commercial/Residential Paving Crews are hiring for May 2026. This individual is responsible for carrying out assigned tasks/responsibilities efficiently and effectively. They will meet quality standards and production targets set by the organization. They will follow established procedures, guidelines, and best practices. It is important that they maintain open and constructive communication with colleagues, supervisors, and other stakeholders. Finally, they will show punctuality and reliability in fulfilling work obligations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operating the shuttle buggy to receive, transfer, and distribute hot asphalt mix from trucks to the paver.
- Collaborating with truck drivers to ensure a smooth and efficient transfer of hot asphalt mix.
- Monitoring and adjusting the flow of asphalt mix from the shuttle buggy to the paver to maintain a consistent supply.
- Operating the shuttle buggy in a safe and controlled manner to avoid spills, accidents, and damage to equipment.
- Conducting routine inspections and maintenance checks on the shuttle buggy to ensure proper functioning.
- Assisting in the coordination of materials and trucks to maintain a continuous supply of asphalt mix.
- Communicating effectively with the paver operator and other crew members to ensure seamless paving operations.
- Monitoring and reporting any issues or malfunctions with the shuttle buggy to supervisors or maintenance personnel.
- Adhering to project specifications and quality standards for asphalt mix distribution and paving.
- Assisting in the cleanup and maintenance of the job site, including the removal of spilled materials and debris.
- Follow company policies and procedures, including those related to safety, equipment operation, and maintenance.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area, including the backhoe and surrounding job site.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and necessary training certification.
- Adaptability to work in all weather conditions.
- Ability to work effectively and safely as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements:
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License
- 5 years of experience

Wage Range:
The hourly range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $35.00 and $45.00 per hour. However, the range offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
