Job Overview

Louis W. Bray Construction is currently hiring several experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to support the completion of complex Water & Sewer Infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities
  • Operate heavy equipment safely and effectively to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life.
  • Perform daily safety and maintenance checks.
  • Clean heavy equipment as scheduled or required.
  • Ensure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored.
  • Advise the mechanics of any requirements for maintenance or repairs.
  • Participate in routine maintenance.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Working Conditions

Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.

Skills and Knowledge Required
  • 5+ years experience with water and sewer installations.
  • 5+ years experience operating heavy equipment in a high‑traffic environment near a workforce.
  • Knowledge of reading locate sheets for underground and/or overhead utilities.
  • Knowledge of and ability to operate a variety of heavy equipment safely.
  • Knowledge of road construction and maintenance techniques.
  • Ability to read and write to complete and maintain daily operating and safety records.
  • Knowledge of safety rules, instructions and policies.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures.
  • Strong verbal and listening communication skills.
  • Time‑management skills.
