Lead complex building cost consulting assignments in Ottawa with Ellis Don, using advanced estimating and quantity surveying expertise. Travel to loss locations when required.
As a Senior Building Consultant, you will lead major property-loss assignments involving commercial, institutional, industrial, and multi-family properties. Apply construction estimating, cost analysis, and commercial judgment to develop independent recommendations. The position includes client leadership, technical guidance, and mentorship for Building Consultants and other team members.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead complex building and cost consulting assignments
- Assess damage from fire, water, flood, and storms
- Validate remediation, repair, restoration, and reconstruction scopes
- Prepare estimates using Xactimate and recognized methodologies
- Advise clients on cost, risk, procurement, and constructability
- 10+ years of relevant industry experience
- Experience with large commercial property losses
- Advanced knowledge of building assemblies and construction costs
- Strong quantity surveying and cost-management capabilities
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel
