POSITION SUMMARY

The Quality Improvement (QI) Consultant will provide expert consultations, coaching and guidance to child and youth mental health and addictions agencies as they build, implement and maintain effective continuous quality improvement plans/frameworks within their organizations and across broader, integrated service systems. The QI Consultant has in-depth and advanced knowledge, skills and expertise in quality improvement, ideally achieved through Lean Six Sigma Black belt certification or progress towards such certification.

The QI Consultant will guide and facilitate teams using Lean Six Sigma improvement methodologies and will provide mentoring and coaching to Green belts, Yellow belts and teams involved in process improvement initiatives both within the Knowledge Institute and across community-based child and youth mental health and addictions agencies.

Guide and facilitate teams using Lean Six Sigma improvement methodologies throughout several external child and youth mental health and addictions agencies, as well as across the department:

• Apply expertise in Lean Six Sigma to coach and guide leaders and project teams in child and youth mental health and addictions (CYMHA) agencies across the province through quality improvement initiatives.
• Act as team leader responsible for measuring, analyzing, improving, and controlling key processes within the Knowledge Institute and across cohorts of external CYMHA agencies participating in the Knowledge Institute’s quality improvement program.
• Operate as a consultant, working with several project teams within the Knowledge Institute and externally, providing coaching and mentoring through QI projects and processes.
• Develop templates for the Knowledge Institute’s and CYMHA agencies’ implementation and use of Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
