Amsted Design-Build offers a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and skilled Architectural Designer to join our growing team.

We’re looking for an experienced, detail-driven professional who can lead residential design projects from concept through construction and thrive in a client-focused environment. This role is ideal for someone who combines confident design intent with technical excellence and enjoys working closely with clients, partners, and construction.
Responsibilities- Meet with clients to develop design concepts aligned with budget, scope, and vision
- Prepare detailed drawings from conceptual design through permit and construction documentation
- Produce residential plans, elevations, sections, and detailed drawings
- Evaluate and integrate design changes from clients and internal teams throughout design and construction
- Assist with site reviews, field measurements, and coordination as required
- Support the team with additional architectural design duties as needed
- 5+ years of full-time residential design experience, with strong, demonstrable drafting and drawing skills
- Graduate of a recognized Architectural Technology diploma program or accredited architectural program
- Advanced proficiency in Revit, with a willingness to learn new tools and contribute to company standards
- Strong knowledge of residential wood-frame construction methods and detailing
- Thorough understanding of the Ontario Building Code
- Experience interpreting City of Ottawa zoning by-laws and coordinating with municipal officials
- Proficiency with standard office software (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Familiarity with Autodesk ReCap and point cloud workflows is an asset
- BCIN designation or OAA Technologist license is considered an asset
- Experience contributing to award-winning projects is an asset
- Knowledge of energy-efficient and green building practices is an asset
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle during working hours
- High integrity with a strong drive for excellence
