Merrick & Company seeks a Senior Life Sciences Laboratory Planner / Architect based in Ottawa, Ontario. This position requires in-depth laboratory design experience to lead multidisciplinary teams.
In this role, you will demonstrate expertise in all aspects of life sciences and containment laboratory design, managing complex architectural projects for varying clients. Your responsibilities will include mentoring junior designers, making significant design decisions, and ensuring compliance with building codes through thorough reviews. You will also collaborate with different disciplines to meet project goals effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
• Direct architectural projects in life sciences
• Mentor junior staff and oversee design processes
• Conduct building code and feasibility reviews
• Work collaboratively across disciplines for project alignment
• Manage all phases of architectural production
Requirements:
• At least seven years of experience in laboratory planning
• Registered architect in the U.S. or Canada, or eligible
• Strong proposal and report writing capabilities
• Proficiency in design software including Revit
• Canadian citizenship or permanent residency required
