Position Overview

Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine – Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) and Eastern Ontario Regional Laboratory Association (EORLA) invite applications for a full or part time locum position in Anatomical Pathology. The division processes between 4,200 and 4,500 surgical specimens annually and performs 90‑100 autopsies each year. Located in a modern, state‑of‑the‑art laboratory, the division offers opportunities for clinical and academic work across the Eastern Ontario region.

For a full‑time locum, the successful candidate will share in pediatric surgical pathology, gastrointestinal pathology, and placental pathology duties with the other two full‑time pediatric and perinatal pathologists.

For a part‑time weekend on‑call locum, the successful candidate will provide coverage from Friday 4:00 PM to Monday 8:00 AM, working collaboratively with a senior technologist. This role offers operational support to ensure seamless continuity of care and flexible scheduling to accommodate the selected professional.

Salary

Full‑time locum: $7,775.00 per week.
Weekend on‑call locum: $2,200.00 per weekend cover.

Basic Requirements

The candidate must hold an MD degree, hold appropriate certification in pediatric and perinatal pathology, and be licensed to practice in the province of Ontario.

All new CHEO/EORLA employees or contractors must provide a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Criminal Records Check dated within six (6) months of the date of issue.

Mandatory Vaccination Policy: Successful candidates will be required to present government‑issued documentation confirming full COVID‑19 vaccination with a vaccine approved in Canada unless a medical or human‑rights code‑recognized accommodation is requested.
