The Department of Medical Imaging at The Ottawa Hospital (TOH) is seeking a fellowship trained Cardiothoracic radiologist for a full‑time position to join the Cardiac and Thoracic Imaging Sections. The candidate will serve the three campuses of The Ottawa Hospital
, the core adult teaching hospital for the University of Ottawa
, as well as affiliated community hospitals and ancillary programs.

As part of the Cardiac and Thoracic Imaging Sections, the successful candidate will be responsible to work collaboratively within a highly efficient team providing dedicated Cardiothoracic expertise and interpreting in‑ and outpatient studies. The candidate will require broad skills in all relevant modalities, including radiography, CT, and MRI. They should also have working knowledge of post‑processing software including Syngo Via, CVI
42 and Tera Recon. The candidate should excel at various thoracic procedures including thoracic biopsies and small‑bore chest tube insertions. The successful candidate will provide consultations for the full spectrum of Cardiothoracic diseases. Skills and/or interest in scholarly activity and research are required.

They will be expected to be a supportive team player, with a strong commitment to patient care, quality improvement, research, and teaching. The successful candidate will hold certification in Diagnostic Radiology with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or international equivalent.

As the central hub of an integrated regional health system and Canada’s largest teaching and research hospital, TOH is a level 1 trauma, 1,297‑bed tertiary, academic health sciences centre serving a population of 1.2M. The Ottawa Hospital is the core adult teaching hospital for the University of Ottawa.

The Department of Medical Imaging, at The Ottawa Hospital is one of 5 departments or divisions and three hospital groups contributing to the academic mission of the Department of Radiology, Radiation Oncology and Medical Physics, within the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ottawa. The Department of Radiology, Radiation Oncology and Medical Physics comprises of approximately 66 Radiologists, 22 Radiation Oncologists, 18 Medical Physicists, 4 scientists (with skills in virtual reality, imaging processing and artificial intelligence), 1 educationalist, 34 radiology residents, and 26 radiology fellows.

The Department has an established record of recognized excellence in postgraduate, graduate, and undergraduate Medical Imaging education. The Department oversees a Preclinical Imaging Core equipped with 7T MRI, IVIS, Ultrasound, and PET‑CT facilitating basic science research. The affiliated Ottawa Hospital Research Institute provides world‑class research support and opportunities for collaborative translational Medical Imaging research.
