Worksite Safety Compliance Centre is looking to grow our current team of instructors, specifically for the delivery of our CPO‑approved Working at Heights program. This Health & Safety Instructor will deliver training full‑time at one of two locations in Ottawa. There may also be an opportunity for this instructor to train others on confined space entry, first aid and/or mobile equipment use (forklift and elevated work platforms).
The position reports to the Manager, Instructor‑Led Training.
- Deliver engaging and informative Working at Heights training to job seekers, the general public and new and current members of the construction industry
- Evaluate participants through practical skills and written evaluation
- Organize, file and submit digital and hard copy participant records following training
- Participate in team meetings and instructor development workshops
- 3+ years experience delivering training (Working at Heights program preferred)
- Background in construction management and/or other fall hazard‑related industry
- Work experience or certification in occupational health & safety preferred
- Forklift, mobile elevated work platforms and confined space entry and rescue considered an asset
- Active certification as a Red Cross First Aid Instructor considered an asset
- Strong interest educating people on the importance and value of health & safety training
- Self‑starter who is able to work independently, while also contributing to a team
- Strong presentation and adult‑engagement skills
- Valid Ontario Driver Licence – occasional travel by car for work
- Able to legally work in Canada
