The Telfer School of Management invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Real Estate Finance, at the rank of Assistant or Associate, commencing on July 1st, 2026.
Title of Position: Professor in Real Estate Finance at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The rank is commensurate with experience.
Duties: Academic staff functions include, in varying proportions: teaching, research, and academic service activities.
a) Teaching:
Deliver high-quality teaching in finance and real estate-related courses.
Demonstrate excellence in pedagogy and a commitment to teaching-related scholarly activities.
Actively contribute to the development and expansion of our undergraduate microprograms.
b) Research:
Maintain an active research agenda in Finance, with a focus on Real Estate Finance or closely related areas.
Demonstrate a strong capacity to secure competitive external research funding.
Uphold a high standard of research excellence and impact.
c) Graduate Supervision:
Supervise graduate students in the Finance stream of the Telfer Doctorate in Management and the MSc in Management programs.
d) Academic Service:
Lead or support the development of a new undergraduate microprogram in Real Estate.
Participate actively in activities of the Accounting and Finance Section of the School.
Fulfill administrative and service responsibilities, as agreed upon with the Section and the Dean.
Terms: New tenure-track position.
Wage: The salary scale for an assistant professor starts at $99,377 (as of May 1, 2025).

Skills requirements:
Education: Ph.D. in Real Estate Finance or in a related discipline, at the time of appointment.
Research experience: A high-potential research program as demonstrated by articles published in high-quality and high-impact peer-reviewed finance journals. Applicants are expected to demonstrate a track record of success in attracting competitive research funding and an active engagement in the academic community.
Language: French and / or English. Passive knowledge of the second official language is a requirement for tenure. French-English bilingualism is an asset.
Other: Demonstrated ability to teach Real Estate Finance, fixed income or related courses. The ability to teach in both English and French is preferred. This position also requires an interest in contributing to teaching initiatives in Real Estate Finance.
