What You'll be Doing
  • Intervene in potential conflicts and emergency situations for the purpose of minimizing disruptions of campus activities and/or injury to involved parties during recess.
  • Monitor student behavior during and between assigned periods (e.g., playground, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring student compliance with established guidelines, maintaining a safe and positive learning environment, and a secure facility.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
  • Prepare written materials (e.g., incident reports, activity logs, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, and/or conveying information.
  • Refer incidents including personal injuries, altercations, suspicious activities, rule violations, etc. to appropriate site personnel for the purpose of ensuring follow‑up in accordance with administrative, site security and student safety guidelines.

Work Environment

The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some climbing and balancing, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and some fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 34% sitting, 33% walking, and 33% standing. The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and in a generally hazard free environment.
