Teach ART
2171A on Modern Art from at the University of Ottawa. This in-person course will challenge students to explore crucial developments in art history every Monday afternoon.
This regular part-time position in the Department of Visual Arts invites applications from academics skilled in modern art. As an instructor, you will explore the historical context and significant issues of modern art from World War I through the early 1960s. A Ph.D. in History of Art along with teaching experience and relevant publications are required.
Key Responsibilities:
• Present lectures on modern art and major artists
• Encourage critical analysis and class participation
• Assess coursework and exams for comprehension
• Support student engagement through interactive methods
• Maintain office hours for academic advisement
Requirements:
• Ph.D. in History of Art required
• Experience in post-secondary education
• Published academic contribution
• Strong command of English
• Commitment to promoting inclusivity in the classroom
