The Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute at the University of Ottawa seeks a Part-Time Professor for ESL 110. Deliver interactive lessons and foster academic development in English for students.
As an instructor for the Fall 2026 semester, you will lead ESL 110 classes focused on academic foundations, emphasizing listening and reading comprehension skills. Required qualifications include a Master’s degree and at least two years of teaching ESL at the post-secondary level. Classes will run Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with an expected enrolment of 25 students.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and deliver engaging ESL lessons
• Develop students' speaking and writing skills through revision
• Facilitate role-plays and interactive dialogues
• Assess student progress and adapt curriculum delivery
• Collaborate with colleagues for course coordination
Requirements:
• Master’s degree in second language teaching or TESL
• Two years teaching experience at college/university level
• Experience with team-teaching and ESL course delivery
• TESL Certification or equivalent preferred
• Commitment to in-person instruction on-campus
