The Faculty of Education at the University of Ottawa seeks an educator for the Fall 2026 semester to teach Learning and Literacies. This role focuses on ethnic, gender, and class aspects of literacy.
This is a new position for the Wednesday evening course, EDU
6203 C00. Applicants should possess a PhD in education or a closely related field, along with recent publications relevant to literacy studies. Expertise in e-learning and diverse literacy practices is essential for success.
Key Responsibilities:
• Teach Learning and Literacies every Wednesday evening
• Examine literacy's relation to ethnicity, gender, and class
• Explore historical and psychological literacy theories
• Study literacy practices in schools and communities
• Facilitate discussions on social justice in literacy education
Requirements:
• PhD in education or related field
• Recent publications in literacy education
• Expertise in literacy theories and practices
• Experience in e-learning methodologies
• Commitment to equity and diversity in teaching
Contribute to an inclusive educational environment by teaching critical literacy theories at the University of Ottawa.
