Position: Instructor for uOttawa English Course
Become a vital part of uOttawa's English Experience Course as a Part-Time Instructor in the Spring-Summer 2026 semester. Help students master essential language skills through engaging, real-world tasks.
The University of Ottawa invites applications for an instructor in its ESL 160 course, part of the Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute (OLBI). Running from August 4 to 21, the course aims to cultivate listening, reading, speaking, and writing abilities in a collaborative environment. Classes are scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays, promoting a task-based approach.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct the uOttawa English Experience sessions

• Engage students with interactive and task-oriented lessons

• Highlight grammar, vocabulary, and intercultural skills

• Assess and provide feedback on student work

• Implement effective teaching resources and strategies
Requirements:

• Master’s degree in second language teaching or TESL

• At least two years of ESL instruction experience

• Prior experience with college-level courses beneficial

• Certification in TESL or equivalent preferred

• Commitment to in-person teaching on campus
