Enriched Sight-Singing Course Professor Position

Elevate music education at the University of Ottawa as a Professor for Sight-Singing and Dictation I. This part-time position is designed for the Fall 2026 and Winter 2027 academic terms.

The Faculty of Arts is looking for a qualified individual to teach enriched course content focusing on aural skills and music theory. Candidates should hold a doctoral degree or an equivalent qualification and possess extensive teaching experience at the university level. Responsibilities include organizing teaching labs and coordinating instruction for multiple sections.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate Sight-Singing and Dictation course delivery

• Organize and manage instructional labs

• Engage students in collaborative learning practices

• Oversee course section coordination

• Assess and evaluate student performance

Requirements:

• Doctoral degree in theory/composition preferred

• At least five years of relevant teaching experience

• Strong organizational capabilities

• Experience with course section management

• English proficiency; passive competency in a second language
