Role Description

This is an on‑site Drone Instructor role based in Ottawa, ON. The Drone Instructor will deliver classroom and field‑based training on drone operations, safety procedures, and relevant regulations, adapting teaching methods to different skill levels. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include planning and leading flight training sessions, demonstrating proper piloting techniques, and supervising learners during practical exercises. The role also involves developing and updating training materials, lesson plans, and assessment tools to align with current industry standards and regulatory requirements.

The Drone Instructor will evaluate learner performance, provide clear feedback, maintain training records, and ensure all equipment is inspected, properly maintained, and operated safely. Collaboration with colleagues to improve training programs and support special projects or demonstrations may also be part of the role.

Qualifications
  • Strong hands‑on skills in FPV Drone Piloting and UAV operation, with the ability to demonstrate and teach safe, controlled flight.
  • Practical experience with Drones and UAV platforms, including pre‑flight checks, troubleshooting, and basic field maintenance.
  • Clear, structured communication skills and prior experience in teaching, coaching, or training is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work on‑site in Ottawa, ON, including outdoors in varying weather conditions and during extended training days when required.
  • Strong organizational skills for scheduling, documentation, and learner progress tracking; proficiency with basic computer tools and learning materials.
