We are seeking a skilled, engaging, and client-centered Financial Coach and Group Facilitator to join our Financial Coaching team.

This role delivers both group-based financial education and individual (1:1) financial coaching, supporting clients in building financial knowledge, skills, and confidence. You will design and facilitate workshops while also working directly with clients to achieve their financial goals.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, community-based environment and brings strong facilitation, coaching, communication, and program development skills.

Location:

Ottawa, Office-based (312 Parkdale Avenue) Ottawa, Office-based. FSO‑SFO is located on the unceded Territory of the Anishinaabe Algonquin Nation.

Salary: $53,476.41 to $60,078.14 (Level

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Financial Coach and Group Facilitator deliver workshops, courses, and training sessions while also providing one‑on‑one financial coaching.

This role ensures engaging, inclusive learning experiences and supports clients in improving financial stability through goal setting, education, and ongoing coaching.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Program Development
  • Assess client and community needs to identify relevant financial education and coaching topics
  • Design and develop workshops, courses, and coaching materials that are practical, evidence‑informed, and accessible
  • Create tools, worksheets, and resources for both group and individual coaching
  • Adapt and update materials based on feedback and emerging needs
  • Ensure all content is inclusive, culturally appropriate, and accessible
Group Program Delivery
  • Facilitate workshops and group sessions using effective adult learning techniques
  • Create a welcoming, respectful, and trauma‑informed learning environment
  • Prepare and set up group sessions (in‑person or virtual)
  • Respond to participant questions and manage group dynamics effectively
  • Identify participant needs and refer to appropriate community resources or supports
  • Promote and refer participants to one‑on‑one financial coaching when appropriate
  • Ensure spaces are organized, and materials are properly stored after sessions
Individual Financial Coaching
  • Provide one‑on‑one, client‑centered financial coaching using a strength‑based, trauma‑informed approach
