The University of Ottawa is seeking a passionate educator to teach the ESL 130 course. Candidates should possess a master's degree in second language teaching along with experience at the college level. The position, requiring classes Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, offers the opportunity to enhance students' speaking and writing skills through innovative teaching methods.
Key Responsibilities:
• Instruct ESL 130:
Academic Enhancement in English
• Encourage critical thinking and debate in the classroom
• Support students in crafting oral presentations and essays
• Implement self-correction strategies in student assignments
• Collaborate on class schedules with fellow educators
Requirements:
• Master's degree in TESL or equivalent
• Minimum two years of ESL teaching experience
• Familiarity with team-teaching practices
• Certification in TESL or related discipline
• Completion of mandated training
