The Music of the Celtic Peoples
Survey of the traditional music of Ireland, Gaelic Scotland, Wales, Brittany, Cornwall, Isle of Man, Galicia as well as the Celtic diaspora of Canada. Song, instruments, and performance techniques will be studied, in an historical as well as a contemporary context.

Requirements:
PhD in Musicology (with specialization in Irish traditional music). The applicant should also have an academic background in the cultures of other Celtic countries and regions. Working knowledge in at least one Celtic language. Bilingual (French and English).

This course will be offered in person.An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
