Itinerant Educational Assistant

Position: Itinerant Educational Assistant Support Role
Become a key player in student success with the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board as an Itinerant Educational Assistant providing system support. In this role, you'll enhance teaching excellence and collaborative school practices across a network of schools.

As a Secondary Itinerant Educational Assistant System Support, you will work under the direction of the Program Manager, Educational Assistants. Your responsibilities include coaching staff, developing resources, and providing proactive support tailored to student needs. This collaborative role helps facilitate social-emotional skill groups and professional learning, facilitating a supportive educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide coaching and modeling for school staff

• Facilitate social-emotional skill groups

• Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team

• Develop and present professional learning resources

• Travel between schools to support various programs

Requirements:

• Child and Youth Worker diploma or equivalent

• 5 years of experience supporting mental health initiatives

• Experience with Autism and exceptionalities

• Current First Aid and CPR certifications

• Vehicle access for travel between schools
