The Ottawa Catholic School Board (OCSB) is currently seeking a Library Technician for St. Juan Diego School.
Job Description- Operate the school Learning Commons and provide services in an automated/digital environment to meet the needs of staff and students.
- Promote authors, books, literacy, technology and hold special events.
- Perform administrative functions associated with the Learning Commons and/or school.
- Coordinate volunteers’ activities.
- Perform other duties, as assigned by the supervisor.
- Degree or diploma in a relevant field (e.g., Library Technician, Information Science).
- 2 years of related experience.
- Expertise with Insignia (or similar library software systems), Google Suite, computer hardware and software, mobile technology, and various AV equipment.
- Comfortable learning and promoting new technologies (e.g., 3D printing, robotics, coding, cricut).
- Positive team player with the ability to work independently.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Individuals who possess an equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
This is a permanent 10‑month position. The annual full‑time salary range is $49,117 – $52,809, prorated for a 0.50 FTE. An employee benefits and pension package is also provided.
The anticipated start date for this position will be August 24, 2026.
