Educational Assistant Carleton District

As a key member of the school team, you will collaborate with teaching staff and provide essential support for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, developmental disabilities, and other special needs. You will assist in implementing special programs and carrying out physiotherapy exercises. The role requires adaptability and confidentiality while working within different school settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Modify learning programs for students with disabilities

• Participate actively in pool and yard duties

• Provide support to deaf/hard of hearing or visually impaired students

• Collaborate with teachers on student support strategies

• Assist with physiotherapy tasks as directed

Requirements:

• Community college diploma in relevant fields

• 1-2 years experience with special needs children

• Valid First Aid/CPR certification

• Completion of Behaviour Management training

• Computer skills and assistive technology experience
