Educational Assistant at OCDSB

Support exceptional learners as an Educational Assistant in the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board. Engage with students in a fulfilling educational environment focused on their unique needs.

In this 100% term role, you will work 35 hours a week, assisting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental challenges. Working under the Principal's direction, your collaborative efforts with teachers and staff will help implement specialized programs and support students' learning journeys. Working hours align with school hours from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and developmental disabilities

• Implement academic support and specialized programs

• Support visually impaired and hard-of-hearing students

• Help with physiotherapy exercises and stretches

• Conduct yard duties and assist with toileting needs

Requirements:

• Community college diploma in Developmental Services

• 1-2 years experience with special-needs children

• Valid First Aid certification or CPR Level C

• Knowledge of Ontario Curriculum is an asset

• Experience in Behaviour Management Systems is preferred
