The University of Ottawa invites applications for a part-time faculty role starting Fall 2026. You will teach LCM
3102, focusing on hybrid languages and their sociolinguistic impact. Engage with up to 45 students, fostering discussions about language relations, dialects, and cultural policies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver engaging lectures on linguistic diversity
• Guide discussions on minority languages and media roles
• Analyze histories and politics of languages with students
• Facilitate intercultural translation between languages
• Prepare students for practical applications of sociolinguistics
Requirements:
• PhD in a relevant language or literature field
• Proven university teaching experience
• Expertise in language politics and policies
• Bilingual in French and English
• Familiarity with cultural expressions in cinema
