Course Overview
ESL 140:
Academic Bridging in English. The course emphasizes a broad range of extended authentic written and oral passages, with a focus on critical listening and reading. In speaking and writing, importance is placed on fluent and accurate oral production in various situations such as interviews and speeches, organization and synthesis of information from different sources, and expansion of formal writing skills to include research reports and expository essays in various organizational patterns.

- Term Dates: 9 September – 11 December 2026
- Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 10:00AM – 1:00PM
Provide in‑person instruction for the course, delivering content in English and supporting student learning through the use of authentic materials, critical listening, reading, speaking, and writing activities. Facilitate classroom discussions, assess student progress, and maintain a supportive learning environment.
Requirements- Master's degree in second language teaching, TESL or a related discipline.
- At least two years of experience teaching ESL at the college/university level.
- Previous experience teaching this course or an equivalent ESL course.
- Experience with team‑teaching.
- TESL Certification or equivalent.
