Join the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Arts as a Writing Course Instructor for Fall 2026. Engage with students to develop their writing techniques in English through a structured curriculum.

This role entails delivering comprehensive lectures and facilitating student assessments primarily in English, while utilizing effective writing and editing strategies. Candidates should have a Master’s degree in Translation or a related field, alongside substantial professional writing experience in English and a fundamental grasp of French. Familiarity with the challenges of bilingual writing will enhance the instructional effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct lectures and manage classroom dynamics

• Develop and oversee course materials online

• Teach principles and processes of effective writing

• Incorporate essential writing resources into coursework

• Offer feedback to help enhance writing skills

Requirements:

• Master's degree in Translation or related area

• Strong proficiency in English writing and editing

• Knowledge of bilingual interference challenges

• Previous university teaching experience preferred

• Understanding of different writing formats and contexts
