Position: Educational Assistant for Special Needs Support
Join the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board as an Educational Assistant, working 35 hours weekly to support students with exceptional needs in a nurturing environment.

As a vital part of the school team, you will provide tailored support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and developmental disabilities. Candidates must have a community college diploma, 1-2 years of related experience, and strong skills in behavior management and collaborative problem solving. You will work in a vibrant educational community focused on inclusivity and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized support to students

• Adapt learning programs for diverse needs

• Assist during physical activities and pool sessions

• Take on yard duties and supervise students

• Document student progress and behavioral data

Requirements:

• Community college diploma in Child and Youth Care or equivalent

• Experience working with school-aged children

• Current First Aid and CPR certification

• Familiarity with assistive technology and behavioral techniques

• Ability to observe and report on student behavior
