Position: Ottawa Educational Assistant for Special Needs
Become an Educational Assistant with the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board, providing crucial support for students with special needs. This term position involves 35 hours of engagement per week.

In this role, you will assist students with various exceptional needs, including those with Autism and developmental disabilities, supporting their learning and personal development. Collaborate with teachers and staff to create an enriching educational experience tailored to individual requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Join in supporting students with autism and developmental challenges

• Participate in both pool and academic programs

• Assist students who are deaf or have visual impairments

• Aid in physiotherapy activities and adapt learning strategies

• Manage outdoor duties and assist with toileting needs

Requirements:

• Community college diploma in a related field

• 1–2 years of experience with school-aged special needs children

• First Aid certification and CPR Level C (preferred)

• Completed Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training

• Knowledge of assistive technologies and behavior management systems
