Join the University of Ottawa as a Teaching Assistant for the ESL 160 course in Summer 2026. Engage with students through lesson support and facilitate a dynamic learning environment.
This role focuses on facilitating group work and enhancing students' grasp of English grammar and vocabulary. You will prepare lesson plans and attend sessions while reporting class activities. A strong foundation in second language instruction will be key to your success in this engaging position.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and deliver integrated four-skills lessons
• Facilitate effective group work in the classroom
• Attend group meetings and discuss class progress
• Provide insights on student learning experiences
• Support diverse student needs in their language acquisition
Requirements:
• Experience in ESL teaching or training
• Excellent command of English for effective communication
• Knowledge of sentence structure and academic vocabulary
• Familiarity with multimedia resources advantageous
• Interview process may be necessary
