Educational Assistant – 100% Term, 35 hours/weekUnder the direction of the Principal, the Educational Assistant is an integral member of the school team and is responsible for the provision of support to students with exceptional needs within the school. The position involves dealing with confidential information and requires ongoing flexibility and variability.
- Supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and students with developmental disabilities.
- Participation in pool programs, academic support, implementing special programs.
- Support to deaf/hard of hearing or visually impaired students.
- Physiotherapy exercises and stretches.
- Modifying programs and supporting learning for students with learning disabilities and speech/language issues.
- Outside yard duties, lifting, toileting, and/or pool duties.
The successful candidate will possess a community college diploma in Developmental Services Worker, Child and Youth Care/Worker, or an equivalent program, and a minimum of 1–2 years of related experience with school‑aged special‑needs children. Equivalent programs must be assessed by Employee Services staff. A valid First Aid certification/CPR Level C is an asset. The successful candidate will also have completed Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention, TCI, and/or Behaviour Management Systems (BMS) training.

$29.54 – $32.95 per hour.
