Long Term Social Studies Teacher

Position: Long Term Occasional Social Studies Teacher
Join the Ottawa Catholic School Board as a Long Term Occasional Teacher for Grade 7 and 8 Social Studies and Grade 8 Religion. This opportunity allows you to engage students and contribute to their learning environment while filling in for a teacher on leave.

As a member of OCSB, you will be part of a supportive community focused on Catholic values and deep learning. This role demands a strong understanding of Ontario’s education standards and the ability to inspire high school students. You will also need to have completed the Sexual Abuse Prevention Training.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach Social Studies and Religion curriculum to students

• Create lesson plans that foster student engagement

• Monitor and assess student progress

• Collaborate with other teachers for curriculum development

• Uphold classroom rules and facilitate a respectful environment

Requirements:

• Must hold a qualification from the Ontario College of Teachers

• Successful Sexual Abuse Prevention Training completion

• Effective communication skills

• Ability to work in a diverse classroom

• Availability for the term of the assignment
